No Tobacco Day 2026 | Choose Life, Not Tobacco

World No Tobacco Day was observed in our institution to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and to encourage students to adopt a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle. The programme was conducted in the presence of respected dignitaries, faculty members, and students.

The programme commenced with a Prayer Song, creating a positive and respectful atmosphere for the event. The prayer sought blessings for the successful conduct of the programme and emphasized the importance of health and well-being.

Following the prayer, the Welcome Speech was delivered, extending a warm welcome to the Director, Principal, faculty members, students, and all the guests present. The speaker highlighted the significance of World No Tobacco Day and the need to spread awareness about the dangers of tobacco consumption.

The Chief Guests and Dignitaries were then introduced. The gathering was honored by the presence of Rev. Fr. Roxan Thomas Baroos, Director, Mrs. Mamatha D. G. , Principal, and Mrs. Gishy Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor. Their presence added value and inspiration to the programme.

The students actively participated by presenting a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) on tobacco awareness. The presentation included information about different forms of tobacco, harmful chemicals present in tobacco products, health risks associated with tobacco use, and preventive measures to avoid addiction. The presentation helped the audience understand the serious consequences of tobacco consumption.

A Mime Performance was performed by the students to creatively convey the message of a tobacco-free life. Through expressive actions and gestures, the students depicted the harmful effects of tobacco addiction on individuals, families, and society. The performance effectively delivered a strong social message without the use of words.

An informative session on “Knowledge about World No Tobacco Day” was delivered by Mrs. Gishy Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor. She explained the physical, mental, and social consequences of tobacco use. She also discussed the benefits of quitting tobacco and encouraged students to make healthy choices and become ambassadors of awareness in their communities.

The Director’s Address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Roxan Thomas Baroos. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of good health and self-discipline. He motivated students to stay away from harmful habits and highlighted the role of educational institutions in promoting health awareness and responsible behavior.

The Principal’s Address was delivered by Mrs. Mamatha D. G. She spoke about the importance of health education and encouraged students to actively participate in awareness programmes. She stressed the need to develop healthy lifestyles and contribute towards building a tobacco-free society.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, where gratitude was expressed to the Director, Principal, Assistant Professor, student participants, organizers, and the Students for their support and cooperation in making the event successful.

The programme ended with a Conclusion, reinforcing the message that tobacco use is harmful to health and that every individual has a responsibility to promote a tobacco-free environment. The event successfully created awareness among the participants and inspired them to adopt healthier habits for a better future.
